I install this program on my MacBook Pro with mountain Lion. I have also last Quicktime and FC Studio 7 and the new FC on my computer. The program can not find the Apple ProRes Files. But they are still on the computer. Wenn I go on this files and try to open them with this program it is also not working. My email to rarevison is not answer. Bad support

this application keeps freezing when I try to batch a large amount of clips. This forces me to rebatch all the clips that were already transcoded, because a lot of the footage is glitchy and freezes.

The batch feature will save you time and will give you convenience over and over. Worth upgrading from the lite version! I hope Rarevision will continue to improve this product and add more features.

hello guys, Its time to update the software. Mine crashes everytime i do the batch transfer. Please update i think i paid $30 for this and now after few years you all are quiet busy making money in new application. That’s not a good business practice.

Thank you for wonderful product, I paid $50, and now it crashes very often. Please look into it. Mine crashes when I do 60p to 24p conform.

Worked fine for a while now it won’t load any files and crashes on me, Yay!! There is no update to install on app store or the delevoper site.

I love this software, I consider this program to be such an integral part of my HDSLR workflow- I recomend it for all HDSLR filmmakers, the output is exactly what we need to edit with finalcut pro or premier and have that much more color information and lattitude

This inexpensive program properly decodes AF-100 (AVCHD) footage into ProRes422. The video levels are correct as opposed to doing the conversion using "log & transfer" inside Final Cut Pro7. The output files roll-off to clipping at around 100% instead of 110%-115% with FC7. Highlight clipping looks much better than trying to fix the scenes using a color correction filter.

Crashes every few batches. Its not fun to babysit or come back to find hours lost. UI could be improved. There is no real queue system, which would only be helpful if it wasnt so unstable anyway… So, unless youre doing a lot of grading or post-effects, not worth the $50.

This program is the best out there. You get professional quality transcoding that looks better than all the rest. It is just an indispensable tool for DLSR video.

While the this app does raise the quality of any DSLR h.264 file you are using, be warned the process is PAINFULLY slow. I bought this to replace the Batch script someone came up with for the free version, as I was experiencing issues and crashing, and didnt mind throwing some money at the developer. Unfortunately, and I could be wrong here, but it seems this version is still only using one Thread to do all its processing, my Activity monitor is hovering at 10% on my Octocore Mac-Pro. While I think you HAVE TO use this app if you intend to use DSLR footage in the professional world, Im just disappointed that its slower than using the free version with the batch script.

The flattening bug isnt fixed. I did contact support and gave them my full specs, but have yet to hear back from them. The old free version worked fine, the only reason I bought this was to have the batch capability. Would love to see DNxHD support in the future.

The quality of the video is excellent, supports the Technicolor Feature and everything. The only problem is if you are doing multiple files it will not process audio, i hope they have an update for this soon!

As some other folks have mentioned, this program will only run one thread for video conversion. You can work around that by control-clicking the app, selecting "Show Package Contents", then going into the "Contents" and "MacOS" folders. Double clicking the file in the MacOS folder will launch a new instance of the converter. If youre willing to split up your files, you can thus run several threads worth of conversions at the same time. Hopefully rarevision will add this feature themselves, but this seems to work for me for now.

I use this app all the time but I got to say that sometime during large batch trancoding jobs it sometime skips files. Other then that it works great!

This app used to work great. i used it to transcode EOS 7d files with the Technicolor LUT. A couple months ago it would not transcode files from a session. The files were fine in everything else. I stopped using it for awhile after that experience and tonight I decide to try it again and compare the output of my current workflow. Unfortunately, I get a warning saying I do not have the ProRes codec installed and need Quicktime 7.2 or later. Well, I have ProRes and FCPX has no problems transcoding to ProRes. I went into preferences and chose to bypass codec check at startup thinking that would solve my problems. I dropped a .MOV in the window and it says it is transcoding but after 30 minutes it shows ZERO progress. I dont know why the app doesnt work anymore but I really dont have time to figure it out.

I purchased this app this morning at it has frozen with every attempt to transcode more than one file. Whats worse is that when it freezes, it causes my finder window, and therefore my whole system, to freeze forcing me to do a hard shutdown of my machine. Ive read the reviews by people saying it crashes, however I assumed these were isolated instances…I was wrong. This app obviously does not work and for someone who works in video heavily, the amount of time wasted dealing with these types of problems is unforgivable. Very very disappointed with this app! It doesnt seem like a refund is an option either!!!!!!!!! THINK TWICE!!!!!!!

Love this app but the latest version, 1.5.15, crashes as soon as it starts to transcode. Previous version which I still have works fin. Mac OS 10.8.3. Wish the gave presets for certain cameras!
